Hi, my name is Carol.
I am from Brazil, where I worked for 27 years as an otolaryngologist. Besides having a Doctor of Medicine (MD), I also make dolls.
It all began in 2008, when I started handcrafting fabric dolls for my daughter, Elisa. As the production grew, the extra dolls were donated to children being treated at public hospitals in Brazil and small villages in Africa. However, it wasn't until 2019 when Miss Fabric Doll officially got its name.
In 2022, we started making paper dolls, as a great activity for bedridden kids and visiting siblings. So far, we have donated over 1,000 dolls (paper and fabric) to sick kids in Brazil.
With the move of our family to Florida in 2023, I retired and embraced the opportunity of expanding the project to the U.S. As for today, different from Brazil -- where fabric dolls were the top choice-- paper dolls and coloring books have been U.S.'s favorites.
This new chapter of our story already includes donations to John Hopkins All Children's Hospital, Tampa General Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
What started as a mom-daughter activity, is now an amazing opportunity to give back to our community. Miss Fabric Doll is growing and 20% of every doll/book sold is redirected to the non-profit project.
We hope our dolls will inspire imaginative play, storytelling, and bring smiles to children facing adversity.
