Hi, my name is Carol. I am from Brazil, where I worked for 27 years as an otolaryngologist. Besides having a Doctor of Medicine (MD), I also create handcrafted dolls. It all began in 2008, when I started handcrafting fabric dolls for my daughter, Elisa. As production grew, the extra dolls were donated to children being treated at public hospitals in Brazil and small villages in Africa. However, it wasn't until 2019 that Miss Fabric Doll officially got its name. In 2022, we expanded our offerings to include children's books and started making paper dolls, which serve as a fantastic activity for bedridden kids and visiting siblings. So far, we have donated over 1,000 dolls (both paper and fabric doll donations) to sick kids in Brazil. With our family's move to Florida in 2023, I retired and embraced the opportunity to expand the project to the U.S. Unlike Brazil, where fabric dolls were the top choice, paper dolls and coloring books have quickly become favorites here in the U.S. This new chapter of our story includes donations to Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, Tampa General Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. What started as a mom-daughter activity has transformed into an incredible opportunity to give back to our community. Miss Fabric Doll is growing, and 20% of every doll or book sold is redirected to our non-profit project. We hope our dolls will inspire imaginative play, storytelling, and bring smiles to children facing adversity.
